What We Do
Church Gathered
We gather as a church each week because God has called His people to come together to worship Him, hear His Word, and encourage one another. In a scattered and distracted world, the gathered church re-centers our hearts on Christ, reminds us of what is true, and strengthens our faith. Corporate worship is not just a habit, but a vital means by which God shapes His people together.
Church Equipped
We are committed to equipping believers because God calls every Christian to grow in maturity and to participate in the work of ministry. Through intentional biblical training—whether in adult classes or children’s ministries—we seek to ground people in sound doctrine, develop spiritual discernment, and raise up leaders who can serve and shepherd others. This equipping strengthens the whole church as each member is prepared to build up the body.
Church Connected
We prioritize connection because the Christian life was never meant to be lived alone. Meaningful relationships within the church provide the context for encouragement, accountability, care, and spiritual growth. Through small groups, discipleship groups, and other connection-focused ministries, we seek to cultivate a community where people are known, loved, and spurred on to follow Christ together.
History
The Lord began BP Church through several families who came across the Oregon Trail. In 1863 these families relocated from Oregon to Washington and founded a log cabin school and church. The Lord provided a place for us on our present location in 1894 and our present facility is the third church building on this corner. From those earlier years until now, BP Church has continued to have a passion for region our neighbors and around the world, teaching the truth of God's word, and living out God's grace to one another and to everyone around us.
